Fr. Tony was a man of God in the truest sense of the word—he loved people, he loved life and he lived it with true compassion and a generous spirit. We were so blessed to have him in our lives. He married our two daughters and he repeatedly blessed our 100 year old mom before her passing. We so enjoyed his vivid stories of serving lovingly in the Brazilian rainforest for many years. Everything he did was done with great love. We will miss this fine man and we know that he is now in The Lord’s great light.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Fr Tony and extend my condolences to all the Xavierians and Father's family members. I knew Fr Tony many years ago when I was a student at the prep-seminary in Holliston. He was a great person to talk to and he took great interest in helping the students. He did a tremendous job in putting together the great library we had. God Bless Fr Tony.

The Redmond family is deeply saddened by the loss of Fr. Tony. He was an integral part or our family for close to thirty years. Fr. Tony will always be remembered for his sharp intellect and gentle understanding. He was a scholar and a prolific writer with a keen sense of audience. His ability to convey the gospel message and relate it to daily life was both insightful and at times thought provoking. While he was director of the Shrine, I met many faithful who attended to hear his homilies. I was one of those faithful. We are all grateful to have shared in his journey on this earth. He will be forever in our hearts and prayers.
