Visiting with Polly and her kin at Weekapaug, RI was a joy for me and my family (circa August 2000 and 2001). I learned how far, and how fast, Polly was able to hike, in retirement. It seemed amazing, hearing about her group hikes. I was not much into hiking at the time, but I remembered her example. A few years later I found the time and both Martha and I started hiking weekly, and really have Aunt Polly to thank for it. It's a very healthy habit and I love to do it when I find the time. I'm not sure we will ever walk as fast at Polly could though, but sometimes we go as far. We wish her remaining family well, and health, in fond memory of Polly.

Dearest friend,47 years, where did the time go. We met at AT&T when I was in High School. Mother Mayer you wanted me to call you. Over the years you became an older sister and beloved friend. You have been my hero, raised your four children alone, worked full-time and showed me in my own life challenges make you a stronger person. When I saw you 10 days ago, you wanted to know all about Meg, always thinking of us and not yourself. " Friends should be like books, few, but hand selected." I think we did well picking each other. Peace.

Paula, I will always remember your friendliness, advice and help when I was new to the Cape. Your tips on using the back roads & shortcuts will always stay with me. I will miss you dearly my friend. The fun and parties will never be quite the same. "May God hold you in the palm of his hand" into eternity. Praying that your family will find comfort in the memories of such a good mother & grandmother.
