My best to all the Evers family at this sad time. Karen was a dear friend. Her humor, sensibility, compassion and realism were only a handful of attributes that made Karen who she was. It hurts to think she is gone from this physical world. I look forward to seeing her again sometime.

Karen left a huge legacy of caring at St. Elizabeth's Hospital (and St. Margaret''s too). And she was a wonderful friend! I am so sad for her untimely death and will keep all who loved her,especially Grace and Nick, in my prayers.

I am so saddened by the loss of such a wonderful woman. Karen had such a warm spirit and a caring soul. She mentored me briefly but her lessons truly stuck with me and not only applied to social work but to life as well. What an unspeakable tragedy. I'm sorry for her family and especially her children- you have a very special angel and she will always be with you.
