I was glad to be there today to honor Dave. He was a sweet, gentle soul and I am happy we grew up together. Wonderful to see all his friends there today paying respects. RIP

So many stories about Dave over the years, I'll share this one. We were in the 6th grade, the pre-Crowbar days. As had happened for at least a few years, the entire Pine Hill School 6th grade were packed onto school buses in the fall for a 5-day getaway to some nature camp in New Hampshire. It was the best, a taste of what was to come for us in junior high and beyond. Anyway, the camp had large dorm rooms with about a dozen bunkbeds in each, and Dave was among the kids in my room. Come the middle of one night everyone woke up to a sudden and very loud THUD - well, almost everyone! There beside his bed was Dave, who had fallen off the TOP BUNK, hit the floor, and slept right through it!! The rest of us were wide awake and roaring with laughter, which then must have awakened him. I doubt we got back to sleep that night, but Dave? Pretty sure he had no problem. He was a good pal for a long, long time, and will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.

David is one of those rare characters in this world. I consider myself extremely lucky to have had him as a friend from our kindergarten days right through to these last days. He was a kind soul and was always generous with his laughter. He will be sorely missed. Safe travels my friend.

I have known Dave since I was five years old. You will not find a truer friend. Dave will be truly missed, and the world will be a smaller place without him. Condolences to his family.

David was always one in high school that you would look to for a friendly smile or just a short conversation in the smoking lounge to make the day that much better.. Thankful for you being true to who you were. Thoughts to all his family. He was truly one of a kind.
