Andy was my good friend Pittsield from childhood until College. He was a founding member of The Beagle Boys, a rag tag group of teen age young men who played basketball, went to weekend movies, later dances, at the Boys Club and on occasions went "over the mountain" to find beer available to 18 year olds in New York. His dad was a Holy Cross graduate who took us to a few baseball games in Worcester. Andy followed him to Holy Cross while I decided on Notre Dame. Our group reconvened summer evenings for a few years, then slowly lost touch. I recall Andy's earnest efforts in sports, his companionship in the neighborhood and parochial school, his generosity and kindness and his smile. I know he will be welcome----Pope Francis loves to draw on words from Zephaniah at services for friends: "God will rejoice over you with gladness/ and renew you in his love/God will sing joyfully because of you/ As one sings at festivals". RIP Dave
