Warren Harold Wilmarth, 96, died peacefully under the care of his family on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in New York following a brief illness.

He was born in Framingham on December 21, 1924 the son of the late Russell Daniel Wilmarth and Harriet Minnie (Hook) WilmarthWarren was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Emily E. (Campbell) Wilmarth who died on October 26, 2007.


He was the devoted father of Stephen H. Wilmarth and his wife Linden Hu of New Haven, CT; Russell F. Wilmarth and his wife Francine Wilmarth of Alton Bay, NH; Joan C. Wilmarth of Esperance, NY and the late Edward D. Wilmarth who died on August 15, 2006. He was the brother of Marjorie W. “Midge” (Wilmarth) Wyman of Uxbridge and the late Robert E. Wilmarth. Also survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.

Warren spent over 56 years in Medway before he and Emily retired to Pawley’s Island, SC and spent their summers in Wolfeboro, NH.

He was a graduate of Medway High School and attended the Aeronautical School on California. He served his country with honor and pride during World War II with the United States Army as a PFC and was the recipient of the Victory Medal. Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon. 

He was the founder and owner of Castronics, Inc., a foundry business in Medway, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Charles River Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Medway.

Warren was devoted to his family and enjoyed summers spent at the residence in Wolfeboro, NH where many memories were created. He was an avid golfer and was still golfing a few months ago in South Carolina. He and Emily traveled together and enjoyed their retirement. He will be fondly remembered and loved by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 on at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St (Rt. 16), Holliston.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Interment will follow in the Wilmarth family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Medway.

In lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Warren’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor choice.
