Sadie Mayo, 100 years old, of Holliston, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. Born in Ashland, she was the daughter of the late Ada (Kiswany) and Abraham Shtaway. She was the wife of the late Robert Hollis Mayo.

Sadie graduated from Framingham High School in 1940. She went on to attend the Waltham School of Nursing and earned her degree as a registered nurse in 1945. She was active in the Framingham Women’s Club, where she served as a past president. She was 12th District Director of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and was a member of the Myrtle Chapter Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron and Grand Martha. She retired from Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Marlborough as Director of Nurses.

Sadie is survived by her son, Robert H. Mayo Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Upton; 5 grandchildren, Meaghan Mayo, Christina Provost (Scott), Robert Mayo III (Jenna), Kathryn Mayo (David) and Kimberly Mayo; 7 great-grandchildren, Collin and Rylee Cooper Mayo-Fiske, Lindsay and Jordan Provost, Grizelda Becroft,  Harper and Tucker Mayo; 3 great-great grandchildren, Joseph, Jace and Byrdie; her daughter-in-law, Ellen Mayo; nieces and nephews, Nancy (Mark), Joseph Scoff (Mary), Roberta Scallet (Edward), Margaret Bals (Fred). She is predeceased by her son, Charles R. Mayo and her siblings, Anna, George, Elizabeth and Margaret.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. Interment will be held privately with family. A luncheon will follow at Marlborough Country Club.
