Ruth F. Murphy, 88, of Holliston died Monday October 6, 2003 at the Medway Country Manor. Born in Turners Falls, MA she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Delia (Dunleavy) Doherty. She was also the wife of the late John H. Murphy who passed away in 1984.

A 41 year resident of Holliston, Ruth had also spent 30 years working for the Natick Bulletin.

Ruth is survived by 2 sons; John H. Murphy and his wife Charlene of Medway, Paul E. Murphy of Ft. Lauderdale, 2 daughters; Carol Bell formerly of Holliston and her husband Ronald of Rhode Island and Florida, Janet Swaine and her husband Allan of Hopkinton, 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren. Ruth is predeceased by her daughter Patricia Scammon who passed away in 1987.

Visitation hours will be on Thursday, October 9, 2003 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) Holliston, MA 01746. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 10, 2003 at 10:00 am in Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston.
