Richard “Rick” Caruth, 58, the much-loved fianceé of Christine A. Hagopian, passed from his life on Friday, August 18, 2023. Born in Iowa City, Iowa on March 1, 1965, Rick was the son of the late Cecil L. and Judith (Thomas) Billington.

Rick grew up with core family values, respecting his parents, and grandparents, all while having a mischievous love of music, racing his classic roadrunner, bowling, roller skating, and even raising some cane. He graduated Crestwood High School in 1983 and a dramatic knee injury prevented him from continuing at the University of Iowa.

Rick was drawn to the beaches of Florida where he lived for over 20 years. In the Tarpon area, he was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Marissa. A loving girl dad, he was always putting her first, making certain she was loved and provided for.  From Florida to New Hampshire, he held various jobs from a PACU nurse and then to telecommunications where he excelled and thrived in sales, most recently at Verizon Business Markets and For2Fi. His ability to connect with just about anyone made him the best at building business relationships, earning him corporate medals of service, respect from his colleagues, lifelong friendships, and the trust of his customers. Working for For2Fi brought him the title he dreamed of achieving, the opportunity to travel and grow with an amazing company that became his family. Rick was an avid golfer and bowler. He worked hard so he could enjoy time traveling, to spend time with his sisters and extended family.

He is survived by his fianceé Christine A. Hagopian, his daughter Marissa Caruth, sister Dixie Avery, her husband Alan, sister Sharon Tilkes and her friend Ron Rieber, along with several nieces, and great nieces and great nephews.

A private service will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick’s name to the Golf For Cops charity at www.golfforcops.com or to the HIMA house project in Armenia which became close to Rick’s heart after he visited in 2019.
