Richard Elmer Stanley, 91, of Holliston, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Dick grew up in Stonington, Maine the son of the late Lucille (Gardner) and Forrest Elmer Stanley. He was the husband of Nancy Louise (Robery) Stanley for almost 60 years. Dick attended Wentworth Institute of Technology, receiving an Associates Degree in Engineering before enlisting in the Army for two years. He became a Design Engineer for over 30 years at Hewlett-Packard, contributing to the exterior design of medical equipment and receiving a patent for his work. Dick was involved with the First Congregational Church in Holliston for over 55 years. He enjoyed participating in and watching all sports, fishing, and boating. After retirement, he and Nancy purchased a home on Sokokis Lake in Limerick, Maine where they loved spending summers with family and friends. 

Besides his wife, Dick is survived by his two children, Steve Stanley and his wife Verna of Medway, MA and Amy Stanley Whitmore and her husband Bill of Gray, Maine. Dick also had four grandchildren; Jake Stanley and his wife Jenny; Billy Seidel and his wife Hannah Godbey; Julie Seidel and Jenn Stanley, as well as a great granddaughter, Rhea Stanley. He is predeceased by his siblings, Elizabeth (Stanley) Leavitt and Forrest (Mickey) Stanley. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9th from 9-10:30 at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, MA, 854 Washington St. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow the service in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Holliston, MA.
