Rebecca June Lomuscio, 89, a longtime resident of Holliston, Massachusetts, died December 16, 2015 after a short illness. She was the daughter of Deborah Solomon Maloof and David Maloof.

She was known to all in town as “June” and to her family as “Nana.” Shortly after moving to Holliston with her then husband James, June was instrumental in helping to start the town’s first Babe Ruth League. She supported all sports while her children were in school. June was an avid gardener and loved nothing better than to plant flowers come springtime. She was known by both family and friends as an amazing cook and taught her children and any grand or great children who wanted to learn the family recipes. She was famous for both her Syrian and Italian cuisine! Her other pastime was playing cards with family and friends. She was also a voracious reader.

June worked at Corning Medical for over twenty years as a mechanical technician and often spoke of her time there. After retiring from Corning, she worked with a friend, occasionally cooking for his catering business.

June is predeceased by six siblings: Sam Maloof, Stella Gaeta, Agnes Scaramozzino, George Maloof, May Ahern, and Lily Hiduchick; and her “cousin”/niece Helen Costa.

June leaves behind one sister, Vicki Ornellas, and three children; Linda A. Betti of Lunenburg, James D. LoMuscio and his wife Kathye of Holliston and Donna M. Lomuscio of Mendon. She leaves five grandchildren; James Houle of Riverside, RI, Michael Houle of Northbridge, Leah M. Lomuscio-Bratkon of Framingham, Kevin LoMuscio of Ashland, and Kai LoMuscio of Providence, RI and six great-grandchildren; Michael, Stephanie, Jim, Erik, Elisabeth and Madeline. She also leaves many nieces and nephews as well and friends who will miss her dearly.

June’s greatest love were her grandchildren and great grandchildren who love her right back.

A celebration will be held on December 27th from 4-6pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com

In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of June’s favorite charities in her name: The Home For Little Wanderers (www.thehome.org), The National Multiple Sclerosis Society
(www.nationalmssociety.org), or the Disabled American Veterans Charity (www.dav.org).
