Holliston-
Raymond J. Falvey, 76, of Holliston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 14, 2016. Born in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Helen R. (Kelley) and Leo T. Falvey. He was the husband of 51 years to Kathleen A. (Sheahan) Falvey of Holliston.
Raymond was a graduate of La Salle Academy, NY, NY, where he was an all-city basketball player. He then went on to study at Boston College as a business major and played basketball for the Eagles. He was employed for many years as an owner/operator of a food service company for local businesses. In his later years he enjoyed his family, immersing himself in his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He was an avid reader. He also gave back to the community by volunteering at the Natick Food Pantry and Natick Homeless Shelter.
Besides his wife, Raymond is survived by his brother Robert Falvey and predeceased by his wife Eileen of Raritan, NJ. He is predeceased by his brother, Dr. Richard Falvey and survived by his wife Kay of Larchmont, NY. Raymond is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a devoted father to his 6 children, their spouses, and grandfather to 17 cherished grandchildren. Kathleen McDonough and her husband Ralph of West Newbury; MaryKate, Caroline, Liam. Christopher Falvey and his wife Debra of Plaistow, NH; Mary Beth and Ted. Kara Capalucci and her husband Paul of Upton; Samantha, Erin, Jenny and Jackie. Jeffrey Falvey and his wife Wendy of Bedford, NH; Jeffrey, John, Peter, Victoria, Violet, Patrick and Richard. Andrew Falvey of Phoenix, AZ. Mark Falvey and his wife Kristie of Bellingham and their son Luke.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 18th at St. Theresa’s Church in Sherborn. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holliston Pantry Shelf, 23 Water St. Holliston, MA 01746
