Philip Matthew Caruso, 85, of Wells, Maine, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Lena (Sergi) and Charles P. Caruso. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Diane (Mahony) Caruso.

Philip was a Holliston resident for 47 years. Before moving to Holliston, he was a Naval officer stationed in California after completing dental school at Georgetown University. Philip owned and operated his dental practice and visited nursing homes to treat patients. He was a member of the Holliston Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, the 250th Anniversary of Holliston Committee; as well as many other clubs and volunteer opportunities. He was a deacon at Saint Mary’s parish for 33 years.

Besides his wife, Philip is survived by four children, Philip M. Caruso Jr. and his wife, Gloria, of Davenport, FL, Mary Louise Caruso of Wells, Maine, Joseph C. Caruso and his wife, Lisa of Basking Ridge, NJ, and Stephen J. Caruso and his wife, Pearl, of St. Augustine, Fl. He also leaves behind his sister, Ann Giuffre, and her husband, Carl, of Ocala, FL, and 6 grandchildren, Kassandra, Katerina, Angela, Luke, Matthew, and Laurel. He is predeceased by his son, Charles J. Caruso who was six weeks old.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of  Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
