Holliston-

Olivia B. Bergstrom, 20, of Holliston, died tragically on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her home in Needham.

Olivia will be remembered for her gentle spirit and compassionate nature. She was a lifelong lover of all animals, especially horses, and dedicated much of her life to their care, spending hours in barns and alongside her horse, Thunder. Her love for animals and nature led Olivia to explore a holistic health lifestyle. She became a skilled vegan chef and reveled in all things nature, especially spending time at the ocean and mountains. She also was a talented artist, doggie mom to Scarlett, and an extremely smart woman. Olivia was a 2016 graduate of Holliston High School and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Mt. Ida College.

Most of all, though, Olivia was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, and friend. She will be remembered and missed by the numerous people whose lives she touched during her short life. Being an unbelievably cute toddler with spiral curls who was afraid of “piders”, she grew to being a precocious flower girl, morphing into to a French-speaking, pony-dreaming, amazing skiing teen, into the beautiful, smart, and driven woman she became. Olivia was a truly unique spirit in this world and will be incredibly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Born in Boston, Olivia is the daughter of David Stoffregen of Salem and Kirsten Bergstrom of Holliston and the step-daughter of Alex Alexander and Charles McGandy. As well as her parents and step-parents, Olivia is survived by two brothers, Lars and Ty Bergstrom, both of Holliston; step-brothers Kyle and Colin McGandy of Holliston; grandparents, Paul and Beverly Bergstrom of Truro; and Vicki and Martin Schwacha of San Antonio, TX, Seth and Imelda Stoffregen of Newton; aunts and uncles, Jason and Amy Bergstrom of Mableton, GA, Kelly and John Scott of Cranston, RI, and Allison Schwacha-Hill of San Antonio, TX. She also leaves behind her cousins, Anna, James, Sarah, Sophie and Roben. She is predeceased by her aunt, Lisa Stoffregen, uncle, Erik Bergstrom and cousin, Leah Scott.

There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Area Church at 11 Washington Street, Sherborn, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Equine Rescue Network, 370 Middleton Road, Boxford, MA 01921 or on line atequinerescuenetwork.com. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
