Michael Boyle, 83, formerly of Boston, Walpole, and Yarmouthport, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Born in Kilcar, Co. Donegal, Ireland, he was the son of the late Susan (Carr) and John Boyle. He was the husband of 34 years to the late Anne Brigid (O’Neil) Boyle.
As a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Local 40, Michael worked on the Big Dig, Harvard’s Kennedy School, and the Boston Children’s Museum, among other notable private and commercial buildings in the Boston area. He was a focused hard worker always with the intention to care for his family. He retired to Cape Cod and spent 20 years in Yarmouthport, enjoying all that Cape Cod had to offer. He especially enjoyed his daily walks on the boardwalk at Gray’s Beach and spending time with his grandchildren. Michael also enjoyed many activities and events as a member of The Sons of Erin in Yarmouth. Michael was proud of his service in the U.S. Army and would fondly remember that he was a boxer and mechanic while in the service.
Michael is survived by his daughters, Norah Mary Boyle Rainsford and her husband, Kevin of Roslindale, and Deirdre Rose Boyle of Quincy. He also leaves behind his siblings, Susan Cea of Queens, NY, Theresa Egan and her husband, Brian of Ballintra, Co. Donegal, Ireland, and Kathleen Tully and her husband, Seamus of Killybegs, Co.
