Boston-
Matthew C. Southard, 28, of Boston, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the New England Medical Center in Boston. Born in Boston, he was the son of Stephen and Luzbella (Marcelo) Southard of Sherborn.

A Boston resident, Matthew worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a Medical Researcher for the past 4 years. He was a graduate of Roxbury Latin High School and received at Bachelor of Science and Chemistry Degree from Duke University. He was on the varsity wrestling team at both Roxbury and Duke.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Stephen Southard Jr. and his wife Shelly of Boston, a sister, Pauline Smith and her husband Steven of Sherborn; his grandmother, Glenice Southard of Mystic, CT., a great aunt Clarice Easler of Mystic, CT., 2 uncles, Robert Southard and his wife Julie of Bennington, N.H. and Herbert Southard of Groton, CT. He is predeceased by his great grandparents Herbert and Florence Easler and his grandfather, Clayton Southard and grandmother, Corazon Marcelo.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 8:45am-9:45 at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16) www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will follow at 10:30a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston. Burial will take place in Pine Hill Cemetery in Sherborn.
