Maryellen A. (Marcoux) Miller, 45, of Holliston and formerly of Cumberland, RI, after living as a breast cancer survivor.

She was the wife of Mark R. Miller of Holliston and the daughter of David and Rita (Macchiarelli) Marcoux of Cumberland, RI. Besides her husband and parents, she leaves four wonderful children, Dan, Chris, Tracey, and Allison; a loving and caring sister, Maryann Marcoux of Westborough; in-laws, Helen (King) and Guy Miller of Laconia, NH, and many other relatives and friends.

She was one of the original organizers of the annual Walk Against Breast Cancer in Holliston, MA, which donated over $160,000 to breast cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute during the event’s first four years.

She was formerly employed as an employee benefits consultant at Towers Perrin and at Sun Life of Canada in Wellesley, MA.

A 1980 graduate of Cumberland High School, she was selected as Most Versatile Female Athlete. She was a 1984 graduate of Wheaton College in Norton, MA, where she served as a senior class officer and double majored in Mathematics and Economics. She also attended a summer wilderness adventure course at Hurricane Island Outward Bound School in Maine. She loved sports and the outdoors. She loved to hike especially in the White Mountains of NH with overnight stays at the high mountain huts.

An avid runner, she participated in many local road races and traveled to run in the Walt Disney World Marathon. Also an avid cyclist, her favorite ride was the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen’s Flattest Century in the East, which she participated in numerous times over the last 25 years. As an avid golfer, she was a two-time ladies 9-hole champion at Woodland Golf Club in the early 1990’s. She also enjoyed Kenpo Karate and had attained the level of green belt.

Visitation Hours will be held on Friday, March 21, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 126) Holliston. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A service will be held at Saint Mary’s Church (Downtown Holliston) on Saturday at 9:00. AM Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Cumberland, RI.
