Marie Therese Nichols, 95, of Holliston, died peacefully at home on Monday morning, July 17, 2023. Born in Natick, Marie attended Natick schools and was a 63-year resident of Holliston. She was the wife of 66 years to the late Ernest L. Nichols Jr. whom she met while working together at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham.

Marie raised her four children in Holliston. She could often be seen walking her children around the neighborhood or to church. Her home was her castle. She was very proud of building a house together with her husband. As an avid bird lover, she enjoyed the scenic view of her backyard. Marie bought, sold, refinished, and collected many pieces of antique furniture with her husband. Honesty was her guiding principle. Marie radiated wisdom to family, friends, and anyone fortunate to have known her.  Her compassionate loving spirit carried her through 95 years. A wife, a mother, a friend. We love you, we will miss you, may your spirit be in the light now and forever.

Marie is survived by four children, Renee Vorderer, Rosemarie Rook, Ernest Nichols III, and Roderick Nichols. She also leaves behind four grandchildren. She is predeceased by her siblings, Paul, Jerry, David, and Jimmy MacDonald; 2 sisters, Virginia Haskell and Anne MacDonald.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23rd from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 24th at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
