HOLLISTON:
Janet V. Denman, 84, a longtime Holliston resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9th, 2017 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. She is the beloved wife of 61 years to Alan J. Denman.
Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on May 5, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William and Adele (Ness) Wilckens. She was a graduate of the Class of 1951 West Orange High School in New Jersey and attended secretarial school at the Berkeley School in East Orange, New Jersey. She then married Alan in May of 1956.
Mrs. Denman was a quiet and private person who treasured her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved to spend time with. Her family was her prized possessions. Her positive attitude through various adversities enabled her to overcome numerous obstacles the past several months. The void she leaves behind will never be filled.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Jeffrey Denman and his wife, Beth, of Walpole, Craig Denman and his wife, Lorraine, of Holliston, and Julie Pollock and her husband, Daniel, of Medway; ten grandchildren, Matthew Denman, Heather Morgan, Thomas Denman, Mary Denman, Vanessa Denman, John Denman, Amanda Pollock, James Denman, Emily Pollock, and Annie Denman; three great-grandchildren, Harper Denman, Taylor Morgan, and Matthew Denman, Jr.; and one sister, Joan Pittis of Madison, NJ.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Gladys Rinehart and William Wilckens.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13th at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 12th, from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.
