Hopkinton-
Henry Carleton Pierce Jr., 65, of Hopkinton, died Saturday, March 5, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Newton he was the son of the late Evelyn and Henry C. Pierce Sr. He is also the husband of 36 years to Rita (Couture) Pierce of Hopkinton.
He was a 1958 graduate of Ashland High School. He later served in the Air Force from 1961-1964 at SAC Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska and Alaska Air Command in Elmendorf.
He was a professional photographer and a member of the N.E. Press Photographers Association for many years. A long time employee of Digital Equipment, he was in recent years, a Hopkinton School bus driver for Joe Connelly & Sons. He also served as a boy scout leader for several years.
At the time of his death, he was serving as the President of the Hopkinton Lions Club. A club member for 13 years, he served many offices at the club level as district photographer and co-chairman of the State Flag Committee.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, David C. Pierce and Kenneth R. Pierce of Hopkinton and his daughter, Rebecca Pierce of Upton. He also leaves a few cousins.
A funeral service will be held at the Federated Church Ashland , 118 Main St. on Thursday, March 10 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the family lot in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
