Helen M. Moore, 87, of Milford, passed away Thursday January 13, 2011 at the Milford Geriatric Authority after a lengthy illness. Born in Holliston, she was the daughter of the late James and Celia (Doherty) Moore.

During her early years, Helen was the Head Drum Majorette for Holliston’s American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp. They traveled through out the New England area winning numerous medals and awards. In the 1940′ she was featured in a Boston Globe Series related to secretarial skills. She worked for many years Bookkeeping at the former Shoppers World. Helen was a member of the Holliston Catholic Women’s Club and was an active bridge player. She was an avid sports fan with the Boston Red Sox being a particular favorite. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Helen is survived by her sister, Rita O’Brien and her husband Ernest of Framingham, formerly of Milford, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers James Leonard, Joseph and Gerald Moore.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 17, 2011 from 11:30-1:30 P. M. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington Street www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A Mass will follow at 2:00 P. M. at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
