Polly and family, So sorry for your loss. Gordie was always a helpful and hard working person where ever he was. I know that our family always appreciated the things he did. Peace and Love to you all, Peggy

I will miss my Uncle Gordy. I first met him in the early sixties when I was about 8 years old and caused him to spill his drink. I am lucky to have had contact with him every summer when the family came to visit and Gordy came to fish.

I enjoyed the chance to work with Gordon in my job at Edison Electric Institute here in Washington DC. He was part of a team of archaeological and cultural resource specialists within the electric utility industry that helped us respond to rulemakings and other initiatives on resource issues. He was a kind and gentle person with extensive knowledge of the industry and resource issues, and he contributed positively to our work. I am very sorry to hear that he has passed on. But his obituary demonstrates some of the many great achievements he accomplished during his life. My condolences to his family and friends.

'Mr Marquis' as he will always be known to me left the impression of a gentleman of wit, intellect, integrity and worldly wisdom. On reading this obituary I learned details of his life that deepen those impressions and I see those traits carried on in his son Will who I consider a friend. Although he will be missed I am encouraged to see that he has left a positive legacy both through his civic efforts and the wonderful family tree he and Paulie have grown together.

My heartfelt sympathies to Gordon's family. I will always remember the Missouri and the great friendship I witnessed between you and Jim. Rest in peace my friend.

My most sincere, heartfelt condolences to Miss Polly, Will, Tory and all their family on the passing of my great friend Gordon Marquis. He and I were friends for 36 years and for many of those, professional colleagues as well. I spent many great times with him, both professional and just as two friends, out on rivers in Montana and elsewhere, wetting a fly line and hoping to fool trout or salmon. I shall miss him for as long as I live.
