Elizabeth Maxell (Blinn) Drown passed away at the age of 92 with her family’s love surrounding her. She was born in Houlton, ME, daughter of Perly and Mina Maxell. She was raised in Portland, ME and attended Gordon College where she married Rev. Roger Blinn. They were married 35 years prior to his death in 1978. During her years as a Baptist minister’s wife she was active in American Baptist Churches in which her husband served in MA, NY, ME and NY.
In 1979 she married Bayne Drown, Natick, MA. She and Bayne were active in the First Baptist Church, Natick. In 1988 they moved to Athol, MA living there for 18 years and were active in the Athol Congregational Church. In 2005 they moved to Hudson, MA, finally making their home at New Horizons Assisted Living in Marlborough in 2007. Elizabeth was a person of very deep faith which sustained her through her entire life.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bayne Drown who passed away December 2012. She leaves 4 children and 3 stepchildren: her daughter, Carolynn (Blinn) Henderson and husband Kenneth, Holliston, MA; sons, James Blinn and wife Maureen, Menifee, CA; David Blinn and wife Jacque, Lakeside, CA; Peter Blinn and wife Ellen, Old Hickory, TN; stepchildren, Jan (Drown) Carr and husband Joseph, Salem, NH; Kim (Drown) Cave and husband Michael, Wellesley, MA; Mark Drown and wife Gail, Temple, TX; and daughter-in-law, Grace Drown, Leeds, ME. She is also predeceased by her stepson Scott Drown. She leaves 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rev. Alton Maxell, Laura Dobson, Mildred Brown and Geraldine Lindsey of Maine.

A memorial service in honor of a life well spent will be held at the First Congregational Church, 725 Washington St., Holliston on Saturday, December 6 at 11am. A reception follows at the church to greet the families. Interment will be at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Carmel, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, The Blinn-Drown families request that those who wish to remember Mrs. Drown do so through a memorial donation to the Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board, 475 Riverside Drive, Suite 1700, New York, NY 10115.
