Edward John Fiore, 85, of Holliston, passed away at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. He was born in Somerville, the son of the late Millie (Langone) Fiore and Victor Fiore. Ed was the beloved husband of 56 years to Anne (McDermott) Fiore, who predeceased him in 2016. He was predeceased by his brothers Michael (Dorothy) Fiore, Steven (Ginger) Fiore, and sister, Norma (William) Flynn.
Ed grew up in Somerville, the youngest of four, in a very close-knit Italian family living in the same neighborhood as much of his large extended family. Ed often said that he had “the best childhood any kid could ask for.” After graduating from high school, the family moved to Framingham where Ed made many life-long friends and touched the hearts of so many. While working at EG&G, Ed met his future wife, Anne McDermott, and their love story began. Anne and Ed married in 1960 and were inseparable. The couple loved being together, dining out every Saturday night, and became a fixture walking the beaches of Cape Cod near their vacation home in Yarmouth.
Being the youngest, Ed had a special place in his siblings’ hearts. He has eight nieces and nephews who adored him, forming a unique and loving relationship with each, making each believe they were his favorite. Ed is survived by his nieces and nephews, William Flynn of Mendon, Norma Borelli of Framingham, Donna Flynn of Framingham, Lance Fiore of Newton, Adam Fiore of KY, Barbara Kattawar of TN, Deborah Bettencourt of GA, and Angela Fator of NV, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
At Ed’s request, funeral services will be private and are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home in Holliston.
