Sherborn-

Earline Stowe Bush, age 85, died on July 6, 2020 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham, MA. Born August 19, 1934 in Phoenix, Arizona, Earline was the daughter of Joe Earl Stowe and Vora Lee Barnett Stowe. She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Jeanne Roper of Phoenix, AZ, and by her daughter, Carolyn Bush of Sherborn, MA. Earline is survived by her daughter, Catherine Chiavarini and her husband Ernest, her son John Bush, two grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah Chiavarini, and one great-grandson, Michael Petrides.

Earline attended North Phoenix High School in Arizona. She then enrolled in Mills College in Oakland, CA, where she received a degree in Business. Earline worked in Human Resources before she and her former husband, John B. Bush, Jr., settled in Schenectady, NY. During this time, Earline worked primarily as a homemaker, while caring for their 3 children. She enjoyed cooking, music, playing bridge, and traveling. Earline was a skilled organizer. Whether it was hosting a child’s birthday party, assisting in the school library, or actively volunteering with the Garden and Indoor Plant Association, Earline made a positive impact wherever she went.

When they moved to Sherborn, MA, it wasn’t long before Earline volunteered at the Boston Museum of Science. She served well as a member of the Volunteer Overseers of the museum for many years, and helped organize activities such as the 4th of July rooftop party and other fund-raising events. Earline was an avid traveler. She and her beloved companions enjoyed many adventures that took them around the world. One of Earline’s favorite trips was to Tanzania, where she had the opportunity to fly over the Serengeti in a hot air balloon. Earline bravely took on the challenges and disappointments life brought her. She successfully battled bouts of cancer and dealt gracefully with Parkinson’s Disease for many years. She was a private person and not one to complain–strengthened by her Christian faith and the Texas determination that her parents shared with her. Recently weakened by Covid-19, Earline succumbed to heart failure. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be missed immensely.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, and her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station P.O. Box 4777. New York, NY 10163-4777 or to The Museum of Science, 1 Science Park, Boston, MA 02114.
