Charlotte Ann Davis Marden, 79, of Holliston, peacefully entered heaven on November 14, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1944, she grew up in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Pauline Higdon Davis.

Charlotte was loved by many and led an incredible life. In the mid-60’s, Charlotte joined the US Army and served in Intelligence at The Pentagon and was highly regarded, also achieving the Army  Intelligence School Certificate on May 10, 1963, a coveted honor of valor. In 1965, Charlotte married her beloved husband, Don Marden, of which they shared 58 years together, raising two loving daughters with diligent care, Courtney and Amanda. She was blessed to become a grandmother of two amazing boys, Gabriel and Tyson.

Charlotte was an exceptional athlete and enjoyed all competitive activities. She traveled the country playing softball with her coveted Mass Drifters team, followed by joining the Senior Olympics Volleyball team. Continuing to showcase her sportsmanship within the arena of golf, she had an incredible ability to win every game. Charlotte also enjoyed gardening, always with a “green thumb,” and a smile.  Our family is beyond blessed to have enjoyed life with Charlotte as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her husband, she leaves behind her two daughters, Courtney Marden of Newton, and Amanda Marden of Holliston; her grandchildren Gabriel and Tyson of Newton; siblings of Tennessee Faye, James, Tommy, and (late Lynda), along with a number of beautiful nieces and nephews. The family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21st at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
