Andrew G. “Andy” Miller, 90, of Dunedin, FL., previously, Holliston, MA. died April 3, 2011. Andy was born in South Boston to the late Anna Armstrong and George Miller.

After serving in WWII for the US Navy Seabees at Pearl Harbor and Iwo Jima, he graduated from UMass/Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married and lived in Chelsea, MA before relocating to Holliston, MA, his home for 50 years, where he was an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and was involved in many town organizations including scouting, Little League and Lions Club. He retired from the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (formerly The Natick Labs) after 38 years of service. He earned a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1976. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan and, in his fifties, became a jogging enthusiast who competed in many road races and marathons.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Theresa (Boudreau) Miller, and their ten children: Andrea Taylor of Hudson, NH, Gerard of Belchertown, MA, Thomas of Haymarket, VA, Stephen of Phoenix, AZ, Elizabeth Ruggles of West Springfield, NH, John of Columbia, SC, Michael of Dunedin, FL, James of Wellesley, MA, Paul of Palm Harbor, FL and Susan Tucker of Melbourne, FL. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2-5p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will take place at 10:30a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston.
