Ahmet M. Buharali, 63, of Ashland, passed away after a 14 year battle with cancer, Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Born in Turkey, he was the son of the late Tevhika (Goymen) and Dundar Buharali. He was the husband of 13 years to Danielle (Listenfelt) Buharali of Ashland.

A graduate of MIT with a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Ahmet worked at Scheduling Systems Inc, in Framingham, MA as a Director of Software Development. He was part of many social circles, including Boston MENSA, The Iron Butt Long Distant Riders, Commodore, and was a Dockmaster at the Winthrop Yacht Club for over 10 years. Ahmet and his wife enjoyed living on their sailboat in the Boston Harbor area for over 13 years.  

Besides his wife, Ahmet is survived by his sister, Alev Buharali and his son, Arda Buharali.

In keeping with Ahmet’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at the Winthrop Yacht Club in Winthrop, MA on Monday, November 5th from 5- 9p.m., with a champagne toast to celebrate his life at 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ahmet’s memory may be made to the Youth Sailing Program at the Winthrop Yacht Club, 649 Shirley St. Winthrop, MA 02152.
