Agnes F. (Ronan) Rogers, 102 of Marblehead, formerly of Hopkinton, went home to be with the Lord November 1, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Cleburne T. Rogers. Agnes is survived by son; William M. Rogers (late wife Joan Carroll), daughter; Karen T. Rogers, granddaughter; Sydney Rogers & partner Jennifer Gallinovich, great granddaughters; Shannon Anderson and Mia & Greta Swartz. Cherished aunt of Donald E. Morrisette, Mary Ellen Harris, Lynne A. Sowers. Paul R. Morrisette & partner Wendy Stone & sons; Benjamin, Nicholas & Kristopher and several cousins. She is predeceased by a sister Marguerite Morrisette. Graduate of South Boston High 1930, Portsmouth Teacher Training School 1932, and Framingham State College 1965. Miss Agnes Ronan began her teaching career in Portsmouth, NH at the Atlantic Heights, Farragut and Lafayette Elementary schools 1932-1941, the Dondero Elementary School in Portsmouth from 1956 to 1962.

Moving to Hopkinton, MA in 1962, she taught third grade at Center School, retiring in 1974. Agnes joyfully taught CCD at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hopkinton for over 30 years. She was a faithful communicant at Immaculate Conception, Newburyport from 1999-2010, where she was also an active member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Agnes was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing guitar, oil painting, cake decorating and quilting – to name a few of her many interests, which she used to generously bless others. Those who knew and loved her, will remember her most for her faith in God, cheerful smile, positive attitude, kind heart and ready hand to help others. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church St, Hopkinton, MA Friday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. A visiting hour will be held prior to the Mass from 9:30 – 10:30 at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Hopkinton will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Agnes’ memory to St. John the Evangelist CCD Program, 20 Church St., Hopkinton, MA 01748.
