So sorry to hear this. I last saw Gary (aka Gumpa, Gumpo, Gump) at of all places, Chesmore's. Gumpo always made me (and most everyone else) laugh. I remember when we worked together at Child Life he somehow managed to tie a thread to a fly's leg and then fastened the other end of the thread to a workbench with a tack. The fly buzzed around in circles, cracking up everyone who saw it. I also remember pulling into Finn Bros gas station and asking him (much to his consternation) to give me two quarts of the cheap motor oil that he would have to pump out of a 55 gal drum into those glass bottles they had and then pour them into the car I had at the time which used more oil than gas. RIP Gumpo

So sorry to hear this news. One of the lasting memories I have of Gary is when we were in fourth grade reading class... Gary was chosen to stand in front of the class to evaluate a story we had just read...and with all the fourth grade seriousness he could muster....his only comment: "It's a little choppy". ? He was such a nice guy! My condolences to the family ?? Karen Hubbard (Pomfred)

I am sorry to hear that Gary has passed. There are many good memories of my neighbor and friend. When I shared the news with my daughter she asked if he was the friend who shot me with an arrow? He was, but he didn’t mean to. It’s a fun story to share with my Grandchildren. Many years have passed but they don’t make this news any less sad. Thoughts and prayers to all. Gary will be missed.

Dear Wayne and Earl- I\'m very sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to have been friends with Gary since we were Cub Scouts together. I believe your Mom was a den mother. Gary hung with us at the wall on the corner of School St. and Union St. On the days he got his allowance, he\'d go whizzing by us on his purple Stingray bike. We\'d chase him to Table Top Pizza and he\'d share with us. He never had an unkind word for anybody in all the years I\'ve known him. He loved playing pool and was a true music lover. I\'ll miss him.
