David Mark Doss

April 29, 1958 - February 20, 2015

Share your Memorial with Family & Friends

I've been searching for Dave on the internet for years to no avail ~ then a good friend, who went to IIT with Dave, sent me this message... "I found him". Dianne & Zach, I never knew you and I am so sorry for your loss, even these 9 years later. It is heartbreaking for me to read that he died so young ~ how or why? Unknown causes? I have some guesses, but it doesn't matter how. Jeanne ~ I did know you! Dave was my first boyfriend. I met him in 1977 in Fort Wayne when he went to Indiana Tech, and dated him for 3 years. Jeanne, you might remember - I visited your family in the summer of 77 or 78 ~ my mom made your mom a stained glass butterfly which she hung in the kitchen window. I could tell you so many good stories & memories of that time ~ I also have some photos & old letters if you would want to see them. Dave was a super charming, funny, handsome guy who was so fun to be with (back in 1977, when he had his hair long, he reminded me of Steve Perry from Journey - we even went to one of their concerts together ..we went to many concerts back then.). He did have a dark side, but we all do. He took my virginity when I was 19 years old, and I was so in love with him. Not a bad thing at all. I am on facebook if you want to reach me, Emily East (I live in Alaska now).

Diane and Zack, I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a kind person. I know he will be walking by your side, but in a different way than before. Although his spirit is with god he'll always be with both of you.

It was a blessing to know Dave. He was a kind caring soul. I enjoyed working with him in Cub Scouts and youth basketball, he will be missed. Sincerest wishes of strength, comfort, peace and love during difficult times.
