Obituaries

I was a student in Andre's father, Albert's, science class at Newton High School in 1952. Most courses relied on pure rote memorizing. AlbertE Navez tought me how to study, how to see the big picture, how to understand the connections, His class was organized like classes in college. A lecture, note taking, assigned reading and unassigned reading. A teacher's greatest reward is having grateful pupils. I have never forgotten the gifts that he bestowed on me. Academic pursuits became a pleasure, rather than a struggle. I thought Andre's family might wish to know about my long-term gratitude. My condolences to the family. Stafford I Cohen, MD
