Holliston-

John Richard Gannon, 58, of Holliston, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Tippett House in Needham. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Jeanette (Murawska) and John Gannon.

John was an avid animal lover and a devoted dog dad to german shepherds, Rosie and Josey. He spent his career in dental supplies at Henry Schein, where colleagues were like a second family to him. He was happiest with family and friends by his pool by day, and playing poker on the porch by evening.

John is survived by his sister Claire Bresnahan and her husband John of Holliston; his nephew Michael Bresnahan and his wife Hilary, and his niece, Ryann Bresnahan and her husband Ian Simpson. He also leaves behind his great-nephew and niece, Owen and Caitlin, as well as his longtime friend, Debbie Johnstone, and many loving cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1st  from 5-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Thursday, March 2nd at 11:00a.m. Burial of cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A mass in his memory will be said on Sunday, July 2nd at 9:30a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, 5 Rafferty Road, Hopkinton, MA 01748, (or online here) and the Holliston Pantry Shelf 23 Water St, Holliston, MA 01746, (or online here.)
