HOLLISTON-

George E. Gerrior, 81, a longtime Holliston resident and former Hopkinton Resident, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 21st, 2017, surrounded by his family. He is the beloved husband of 48 years to Mary E. (Finn) Gerrior.

He was born in Tewksbury and was raised and educated in Hopkinton. George proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a Corporal during the Korean War.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Gerrior was employed as a Printing Engineer at the former Framingham Avery Dennision Manufacturing Corporation for 41 years. George was a dedicated member of the Dennison Bowling League for many years. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling, and listening to jazz music.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children, Michelle MacDonald and her husband, Aron Johnston, of Nashua, NH, Lori-Ann Strachan and her husband, Scott, of Westborough, Lisa M. Harwell of Marlborough, Mary Beth Cheever and her husband, Brendan, of Framingham, George E. Gerrior, Jr. of Holliston, and Edward S. Gerrior of Holliston; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Majeau, Joseph Bibbo, Jr., Jennifer Charette, Vanessa Harwell, Keith Harwell, Ciara Harwell, Donovan Cheever, and James Cheever; and five great-grandchildren.

George is predeceased by his grandson, Andrew Bibbo, USN, who passed away in 2007.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24th, from 4:00-7:00p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 25th, at 11:00a.m. in St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marine Corps Toys For Tots, toysfortots.org, and the Nashoba Learning Group, nashobalearninggroup.org or Nashoba Learning Group, 10 Oak Park Dr, Bedford, MA 01730, ATTN: Emily Wheet
