She was often seen taking Amanda into town on her scooter.Unable to continue printmaking, Carolyn decided on a career change and went on to earn a Master’s in Library Science, with a specialty in Archive Management from Simmons College. She worked at Pine Manor College and for the Archdiocese of Boston. On Christmas Eve in 2004, while visiting her parents, Carolyn fell and suffered a serious head injury, which led to a nearly complete loss of mobility and a degenerating verbal aphasia. After a series of hospital and rehab stays, Carolyn was admitted to The Boston Home in Dorchester. At The Boston Home, Carolyn thrived, continuing her art, participating in a wide variety of activities, and going out to Museums, restaurants, ball games, and festivals.
