Joanne Rose Bedard, 85, of Ashland and formerly of Holliston, passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Born and raised in Winthrop, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Gioiosa) and Frank DeBonis. She was the wife of 64 years to Roger J. Bedard.Joanne and Roger raised their family in Holliston. She was a dedicated member of Saint Mary’s Church. When her children were young, she was a brownie leader, worked at the schools, and was a member of the Jaycees. For decades, Joanne and Roger called High Rock Road their home, where they became deeply embedded in the fabric of the neighborhood. Family vacations were a treasured tradition, with summers spent at Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire. These vacations became a cherished family ritual, continuing into recent years, where her children and grandchildren gathered to create memories. Later in life, Joanne enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, embracing new adventures.Joanne is survived by four children, Diane Hogan and husband, John, of Warwick, RI, Linda Massoni and partner, Dee, of Northbridge, Michael Bedard and wife, Kim, of Holliston, and Julie Ravella and husband, Mike, of Draper, UT. She also leaves her sister, Carol Breed of North Reading. She was an adoring grandmother known as Memere to Andrew and Matthew Hogan, Jason and Derek Bedard, Emily Massoni, Joseph and Leah Ravella. In recent years, Joanne was overjoyed to become a great-grandmother to Cora and Isabelle Hogan, and Richard Bedard. She is predeceased by her siblings, Marie Evans and Joseph DeBonis.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston.
