Catherine M. (Fitzpatrick) Kurzontkowski, 91, of Holliston passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was married for 46 years to her late husband, Edward Kurzontkowski, who passed away in 1999.
Catherine was the daughter of Edwin Fitzpatrick and Flora (Honey). She was born in Milford on March 9, 1931, the second born of 6 children; Mary Tero, of Eastham, Phyllis Basset of California. She was predeceased by her siblings; Barbara Turner, Peggy Fitzpatrick, and Tommy Fitzpatrick.
She graduated from Holliston High School in 1949. Catherine grew up playing basketball and was a devoted fan of women’s basketball. Some of her last days were spent cheering on the UCONN Huskies. She was also a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Guild and The VFW Women’s Auxilary. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and watching them all bloom. Catherine was a friendly soul that would walk and strike up a conversation with just about anyone. She has left us all with many memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
She leaves 6 children, Ellen Boudreau and her husband Norman, of Upton; Karen La Rosa and her husband Billy of Uxbridge; Daniel Kurzontkowski of Holliston; Catherine Kurzontkowski of Douglas; Edward Kurzontkowski and his wife Leslie of Owattanna, Minnesota; Nancy Capuzziello and her husband Robert, of Milford; Aside from being a mother, her greatest sense of pride and joy was her 12 grandchildren, Andrea, Jennifer, Jillian, Melissa, Michael, Stefanie, Kylee, Benjamin, Bobby, Ryan, Kyrsten, and Zarek. She was also blessed with 21 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to her beloved friends Kelvin Howell, Joan Goddard, and Dan Wheeler. With their help, Kay was able to live her life of independence, which meant so much to her and her family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19th from 10am-12pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral home service will follow visitation at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Downtown Marigold Project, 57 School St. Holliston, MA 01746.
