George (Ralph) Tuck, 77, died Tuesday, April 20 at his home in Centre, Alabama.
He was born in Framingham to George & Bertha Tuck on December 10, 1932 and was the brother of Harold Smith of New Hampshire & Charlene (Tuck) Horne of Ashland (both previously deceased).
Ralph served as an Honor Guard in the US Army at Arlington National Cemetery after graduating from Framingham High School in 1950 and resided in Holliston for many years where he owned and operated his own landscaping & construction company. He was employed for several years by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and lived in Estero, Florida after his retirement; before settling permanently in Centre, Alabama in 2002 where he lived a happy and peaceful life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis and was the loving father of his son Michael (and his wife Debra) of Hopedale, his daughter Nancy Day (and her husband Robert) of Ashland. He was the proud grandfather of twin grandsons, Christopher & Matthew Day of Ashland. He leaves three stepchildren, William Green (and his wife Karen) of Anniston, AL; Pamela Quinley (and her husband Michael) of New Baden, IL; and Crystal Wyatt (and her husband James) of Canton, GA; as well as six step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
He was the father of the late Jeffrey Tuck and is also survived by his former wife Yvonne Tuck of Ashland. He is affectionately remembered by several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home in Holliston and a private burial will take place at the Rural Cemetery in Southborough, MA. Donations may be made to Hospice at Amedisys Home Health, 350 Locust Street, 3rd Floor, Gadsden, AL 35901.
