Thomas J. Dolan

Thomas J. Dolan, 86, formerly of Holliston, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at the Beaumont Nursing Home in Westborough. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Josephine (Tynan) Dolan. He was the husband of Claire D. (DeSalvo)Dolan of Westborough.

A retired Mechanical Engineer, he served in the Army Combat Engineers in the Pacific during WWII. He graduated from URI in 1947 and went on to have a distinguished engineering career culminating in his being a founding member of Spears Associates, Inc. of Norwood, MA.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 daughters and their spouses, Claire Shahkar and her husband Mehran, Joan Allard and her husband Toby, Deirdre Marsh and her husband David, and Elizabeth Roberts and her husband Arthur. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Shahien Dolan Shahkar and his wife Alyson, Lindsey Marsh Malouin and her husband Derek, and Atessa Dolan Shahkar, as well as his great grandchildren, Elexa Rose Malouin and Gabriel Joseph Zuppero Shahkar.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 4-8p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday at 10:30a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
