Thomas James Fleming, 73 of Yarmouth Port, MA and a former Holliston
Resident until 1998, passed away unexpectedly on October 22, 2013 at Beth
Israel Hospital, Boston, MA. He was born in Jamaica Plain, son of the late
James and Gertrude Fleming. Tom spent his early years in East Boston and
Brighton and graduated from Our Lady’s in Newton. He attended classes at
Northeastern University and the Ward School of Business. He ultimately
established his own business as owner and operator of the Thomas J. Fleming
Insurance Agency. Working along side of him were his wife Maria and daughter
Susan.
Tom had an amazing gift that made people gravitate toward him. His presence
and warmth was always known and he made friends everywhere he went. His
favorite pastimes were golfing and being on his boat the Maria Elena. He
worked his whole life to make sure his family was happy.
He is survived by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Maria (Yerardi)
Fleming, 4 daughters Karen Manning and her husband Peter of Blackstone, Kim
Elliott and her husband Kevin of Brimfield, Susan Ramalho and her husband
Scot of Northbridge and Lauren Houde and her husband Jason of Littleton.
Also surviving are his two sisters Anne Morrissey and her husband James of
Saratoga Springs, NY and Patricia Annas and her husband Fred of Norton, MA,
and 14 devoted grandchildren, Patrick, Megan, Emily and Lizzy Elliott,
Allison and Daniel Manning, Jonathan and Christopher Ramalho, Matthew,
Zachary and Kyle Gelinas and Courtney, Trevor and Brayden Houde. He also
leaves many dear friends.
Calling hours will be 4pm-8pm on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Chesmore
Funeral Home of Holliston. A funeral mass of christian burial will take place at St. Mary’s church in Holliston, MA on Friday, October 25 at 12 noon with burial
following at St. Mary’s Cemetary in Holliston. In lieu of flowers donations
