Hopkinton-
Florence Riedle, 86, of Hopkinton, died Friday, November 3rd, 2006 at the
Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home of Framingham. Born in Mount Hebron, Canada,
she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Jane (Robson) Riedle.
A Hopkinton resident since 1927, she was a graduate of the Hopkinton High
School Class of 1938, she then attended Framingham Union of Nursing School
and graduated in 1942. She was a veteran of the Navy where she served from
1944-1946 as Lt.J6 during WWII. She then went on to Gordon and graduated
in 1949, she then entered the missionary field for 34 years. She was also
a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton.
She is survived by 1 brother, John Riedle of Mendon, a sister, Sadie
Benson of Hopkinton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and nephews as well as many great, great-nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a sister, Doris Melvin who passed away in January
2003.
Visitation hours will be held Monday, November 6, from 5-8p.m. at the
Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St. Hopkinton. A graveside service
will be held Tuesday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. in Mount Auburn Cemetery in
Hopkinton. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. in the First
Congregational Church of Hopkinton.
