Jean C. Eberlin, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29,
2006 while residing at the Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge. She was
the wife of the late Donald H. Eberlin whom she was married to for 45 years.
Born in Lisbon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred
(Putney) Burrows. She and her husband lived in southern New Jersey for 18
years until moving to Hopkinton, MA, in 1970 where she lived for 26 years.
After her husband’s death in 1992, she lived in Ashland and North Grafton.
Mrs. Eberlin worked as a waitress at Carbone’s Restaurant in Hopkinton for
26 years and at Fenwal in Ashland. She enjoyed reading, the Boston Red Sox
and spending time in Myrtle Beach, SC. But, above all else, she was devoted
to her husband and 6 children. She especially enjoyed her 10 grandchildren
and 4 great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Kris Eberlin of Northboro and Brian Eberlin of
Hopkinton & daughters, Donna J. VanderWaal of Warwick, MD, Terri Eberlin
Domings of Plymouth, NH, Gail Catanese of Northbridge and Jill Achilles of
North Grafton. She has two living sisters, Clara Struck of PA and Myrtle
Butler of NC.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 11:00 AM at the
family lot at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton. A Celebration of Life will
be held at 12:00 noon at the First Congregational Church, 146 East Main St.,
Hopkinton, with a collation to follow in the church’s fellowship hall.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 PM at
the Chesmore Funeral Home, 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton.
