Holliston-
Salvitore “Salvi” J. Decina Sr., 76, of Holliston, died Monday, May 15,
2006. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Francesca (Puma) and
Joseph Salvitore Decina. He was the husband of the late Margaret “Peg”
Decina who passed in 1999.
Mr. Decina a 40 year resident of Holliston and a member of Saint Mary’s
Church had worked at Framingham Savings Bank and continued to work there
after it became Metrowest Bank. He also worked at Public Finance of
Boston. He was a past president of the Lion’s Club. He was a Pack Master
for the Holliston Cub Scouts and the former president of the Holliston
Little League.
He is survived by 2 sons, Sal J. Decina Jr. and his wife Mary of
Ellington, CT., Rick Decina and his wife Sherri of Hopkinton, 2 daughters,
Marcia Ray and her husband James of Franklin, and Gayle Macrae and her
husband Mark of Milford. He leaves his 4 sisters, Josephine Culcasi of
Natick, Pauline Fantoni of Framingham, Mary Abro of Framingham, and Connie
Fiorio of Framingham. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, Jenny, Vikki,
Anthony, James, Emilee, Michael, Dannielle, Alexis, Matthew, Sarah,
Stephanie, and Jenna.
Calling hours will take place on Thursday, May 18, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at
the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. (Rt. 16). A
10:00a.m. funeral mass will take place on Friday, May 19, at St. Mary’s
Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of
