Betty Jane Smith

Betty Jane Smith, 94, of Holliston, passed away at Milford Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Born in Calendonia, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Edith (Schendel) and Joseph Campbell.

Betty enjoyed her time as an elementary school teacher prior to becoming a homemaker. She loved to garden and was an avid reader and was involved in the Mission Springs Community Garden and Book Club.

Betty is survived by three children, Christy R. Thibodeau and her husband, Michael of Holliston, Douglas Smith and his wife, Deborah of Marlborough, and Sherry Ann Smith of Rockville, MD. She also leaves behind her sister, Lois Mae Murphy-Machesney of Park, IL; her granddaughter, Chelsey R. Blackmore and her husband, Jesse of Aurora, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her former husband, William R. Smith.

A Family Graveside service will be held September 27th at 1 pm at the Poplar Grove Cemetery in Poplar Grove, IL.
