A Navy Veteran, George served honorably as a Gunner’s Mate 1st Class on the USS Cormick in the European Theater during WWII. He later became a successful cabinet and furniture maker. George was very artistic and loved to carve sculptures from blocks of wood and building wooden boats. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating in Newport and smoking a good cigar. As a teenager, George was also a horse jockey He is survived by his children, Christina M. Costanza of Sandwich, Johannes and his wife Angela Stolk of Mendon, Richard Costanza and his wife Suzanne of St. Louis, George Costanza of FL; and four siblings, Jenny Lukowiak, Lena Conway, Mary Stillwell and Francis Savigano. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Tristan, Trevor, Jennifer, Jessica, Mario and Matthew. He is predeceased by his son, Joseph Costanza and four siblings, Rose Conti, Sally Finley, Carol Hubener and John Costanza. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24th from 4-7p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, July 25th at 9:00a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston.
