Alexandra Mastrangelo, 89, of Framingham MA, passed away Friday, January 31,
2014. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Jerakines)
and William Marathas. She was the wife of the late Joseph Rocco Mastrangelo.

She was an advocate for mainstreaming special needs children at a time when little or no resources were available. She was a volunteer Nurse’s Aide during WWII. She loved her family, dancing, films, and music.

She is survived by 5 children: Randal Mastrangelo and his wife Mary Jane of Bourne; Joseph Mastrangelo and his wife Deborah of Holliston; Denice Mastrangelo of Natick; Marc Mastrangelo and his wife Lucile of Carlisle, PA; and Adam Mastrangelo and his wife Stacy of Holliston. Also, she leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and her two siblings: Georgia Cosmopoulos of Framingham and Katherine Zaglakas of Cape Cod. She is predeceased by four siblings: Mary Giosmos, Nicholas, Arthur, and Stephen Marathas.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4th, St. Demetrius Church (57 Brown St., Weston). Burial will follow at St. Tarcisius Cemetery in Framingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
