Barry John Jewer

Barry John Jewer, 56, of Holliston, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Romano) Jewer. He was the loving husband of Sheila (Coggan) Jewer of Holliston.

Barry was a Graphic Arts teacher at Keefe Technical School in Framingham for twenty four years. He was a member of the Mass Teacher’s, Print Education, and the Keefe Tech Education Associations. He was an avid sailor who enjoyed spending time at their Cape Cod home in Mashpee.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 4 children, Kevin Jewer of Princeton,
David Jewer and his wife, Lisa of Dedham, David Ranley of Holliston
and Dawn Spiegler and her husband, Rob of Springfield; 4 siblings, Linda Jewer Beimler and her husband Milton of VA., Laura Pye and her husband David of Gloucester, Bruce Jewer and his wife Nancy of Billerica,and Rodney Jewer of Gardner. He also leaves behind 1 grandchild, Kaleigh Elizabeth Jewer and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother, Bryan Jewer and sister, Donna Burnell.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 4-8p.m. at the Chesmore
Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:30a.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to VNA Care Network and Hospice, 120 Thomas St. Worcester, MA 01608.
