Gladys A. McCarthy

HOPKINTON — Gladys A. McCarthy, 86, of Hopkinton, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at Wingate Nursing Home in Sudbury.

She was the wife of the late Arthur McCarthy, Sr.

Born in Canso, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Minnie (Feltmate) Munroe.

Mrs. McCarthy had been a longtime resident of Cambridge prior to moving to Tewksbury in 1984, and then to Hopkinton. She had worked at Dunkin’ Donuts in Cambridge for many years.

She leaves her son, Arthur McCarthy and his wife, Sandi, of Hopkinton, and a daughter, Rose Savoy and her husband, Greg, of Florida; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her eight siblings.

A funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 24, at 10 a.m., at the Chesmore Funeral Home (www.chesmorefuneralhome.com), 57 Hayden Rowe St., Hopkinton. The Rev. Ernest Batten will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Cambridge Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
