Holliston-
Barbara A. McCarthy, 73, of Holliston, died August 12, 2005 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, in New Haven, CT. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen (McKeon) O’Rourke.
A devoted and loved mother and wife, she was a member of St. Mary’s Church of Holliston and a resident since 1960.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John F. McCarthy, 1 son, Jack McCarthy and his wife Dianne, of Holliston, 2 daughters, Ellen Bandera and her husband Robert of Marshfield, and Mary Billert and her husband Sean of Center Conway, NH. She also leaves 2 brothers, John O’Rourke of Waltham, and William O’Rourke of Sudbury, 2 sisters, Dorothy Lyons of Holliston, and Teresa Boardman of Ashland and 7 grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by a son Robert Joseph McCarthy who passed in 1978, as well as 3 sisters, Mary, Helen, and Margaret.
Visitation hours will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005 from 5-8pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home of 854 Washington St. Holliston. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church of Holliston on Tuesday, August 16, at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
