Hopkinton-

William Lowe, 83, a longtime Hopkinton resident, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Marian (Benedict) and Lloyd E. Lowe. He was the husband of 54 years to Shirley (Hughes) Lowe of Hopkinton.

A Veteran of the Army National Guard, William was retired from the construction business. He loved gardening, the outdoors, puzzles and dogs.

Besides his wife, William is survived by his three children, William L. Lowe of Hopkinton, Wako Johnson and his wife Peggy of Bellingham, and Cindy Hume and her husband Douglas of Vermont. He also leaves behind two sisters, Priscilla Lowe of Franklin, Lois Boucher and her husband Bob of Norfolk; his sister-in-law, Bessie Gray of Florida, as well as 6 grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa, Stephen, Keith, Douglas and Derrick and 10 great-grandchildren.

Burial will take place on Thursday, December 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton. A memorial service will be held following burial at 12:00 p.m. at Faith Community Church in Hopkinton.
